Aryna Sabalenka witnessed a couple getting engaged in the middle of her US Open match and later joked that she told her boyfriend "not to feel pressure."

At one point during the Belarusian's 6-3 7-6 (2) win over Leylah Fernandez, the stands erupted. As the play stopped and everyone shifted their focus to that particular side of the stadium, a man bent on his knee and proposed to his girlfriend. The girl in question said yes - started crying happy tears - before the two shared a kiss. The entire stadium loved it, including the players.

Sabalenka: Looked at my boyfriend and said: 'No pressure!'

Since mid-2024, Sabalenka has been dating Georgios Frangulis, the founder and CEO of OAKBERRY - a superfood brand. Since starting their love story, Frangulis has been a regular in the Belarusian's box. That was also the case on Friday evening on the Arthur Ashe Stadium.

"I looked at my boyfriend. No pressure!" the 27-year-old joked in her presser.

Sabalenka then got serious and described the proposal that took place during her match as "sweet." Also, the three-time Grand Slam champion wished all the best to the newly-engaged couple.

"I think it's the first time that someone proposed during my match, and it was a very sweet moment, but I was just trying not to start smiling, you know, because it's very cute and I believe they are super happy right now, but I was trying to keep focusing on my game... It was a great moment, and as I said on the court, I wish them to have a happy marriage," the world No. 1 said.

Meanwhile, Sabalenka will be taking on world No. 95 Cristina Bucsa for a place in the US Open quarterfinal.
