Rusev made his way back to WWE back in April this year, following a lengthy run in AEW. Many wondered why he returned in the first place and now Rusev has explained the reason for his comeback.
While speaking to Denise Salcedo, Rusev was asked about when he decided his time in AEW was finished and it was time to return to WWE. He explained that after spending a few years in AEW, competing against many opponents, and proving himself, he gained more confidence than he ever had before in WWE.
Rusev said he put all of his past experience to the test, including everything he had learned from superstars like John Cena, Big Show, and others he faced earlier in his career. After experimenting and showing himself that he was the best in AEW, he felt it was the right moment to come back. He added that his ultimate goal remains becoming World Heavyweight Champion in WWE.
Since his return, Rusev has been feuding with Sheamus and is set to square off against the Celtic Warrior at Clash in Paris on August 31. So well have to see whether he will put down Sheamus once and for all and make it clear hell rule WWE eventually.
How are you liking Rusevs run in WWE so far now that he is back? Sound off in the comments.
