Emma Raducanu has just clinched her second dominant win at the US Open after crushing rising Indonesian star Janice Tjen 6-2 6-1 in exactly an hour of play.
On Sunday, the 2021 US Open champion collected her first victory at Flushing Meadows in four years after destroying Ena Shibahara 6-1 6-2.
Today, Raducanu continued where she left off against Shibahara, breaking Tjen in the second and eighth games to easily take the first set. After winning the last three games of the opener, the Briton also took the first five games of the second set to open a 6-2 5-0 lead. Tjen avoided losing the ninth game in a row, but it didn't change much, since the former world No. 10 routinely closed out the match on her serve in the seventh game.

Raducanu, who fired eight aces, 16 winners, and also converted four of her six break point chances, will likely play against Elena Rybakina in the US Open third round. Rybakina plays later today against Tereza Valentova.
Tjen's coach sounded confident ahead of the Raducanu match at the US Open
Before qualifying for her Grand Slam main draw debut at Flishing Meadowsv and upsetting No. 24 seed Veronika Kudermetova in the first round, Tjen won seven ITF titles last year, and six additional in 2025. Chris Bunt, a tennis coach born in Great Britain, insisted that his pupil wasn't afraid of the Raducanu challenge.
"It doesnt really matter whos down the other side of the court. At the end of the day, its just another tennis match. We have a phrase which is the ball doesnt care. The ball doesnt care what kind of court youre on. Whether its a big court, stadium court, US Open or at an ITF 15K. It doesnt matter if its Raducanu down the other end or someone unranked. Were just going to treat it like any other match and well focus on like I say were doing what Janice does well," Bunt said before Tien faced Raducanu.
