Will Ospreay will be taking time off after AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door so that he can undergo surgery. As a consequence of his current injuries, Ospreay believes he might be forced to cut back on his high-flying moves after surgery.
While speaking to CBS Sports, Will Ospreay admitted that he would need surgery after Forbidden Door but still wanted to keep pushing himself in the ring. He explained that his stubborn pride makes it hard to step away from the high-flying style hes known for, even though thats what got him into his predicament in the first place.
Ospreay said he isnt ready to give up that part of his high-flying offense because he feels it should be on his own terms but doesnt know if its on the cards. He hopes to return and pick up where he left off. If he cant, hes prepared to adapt like other greats before him, mentioning Jushin Thunder Liger and AJ Styles as examples.
As reported earlier, there is internal concern over Will Ospreays health ahead of the Forbidden Door event. Nonetheless, well have to see whether the Aerial Assassin will have to cut back on his high flying moves once he comes back from surgery, as he might be out for a long time.
Do you think Will Ospreay should keep risking high-flying moves after surgery, or would you rather see him evolve into a safer and longer-lasting style? Please share your thoughts and feedback in the comment section below.
