Four-time Pro Bowl cornerback Xavien Howard is signing with the Indianapolis Colts, his agent announced Monday.
David Canter announced the news in a post to X.
Howard, 32, did not play last season after he was released last year by the Miami Dolphins, the team for which he starred during eight seasons.
The addition of Howard comes as the Colts have been beset by a series of four key cornerback injuries that have significantly depleted their depth. Howard also has a history with Colts defensive coordinator Lou Anarumo, who was the Dolphins' defensive backs coach during Howard's first two NFL seasons.
Miami's second-round pick out of Baylor in 2016, Howard also is a former first-team All-Pro -- in 2020 when he led the NFL with 10 interceptions and 20 passes defended.
Howard has 29 interceptions and 95 passes defended in his career.
