Rory McIlroy was not overly motivated to play in this year's BMW Championship. The famous golfer previously missed the FedEx St. Jude Championship, which caused a heated public reaction.
However, by returning to this tournament, it seemed that the Northern Irishman would offer much more than himself and silence some of the critics.
The 36-year-old finished the tournament in T12 position. Although he showed brilliant play in some rounds, he would have crisis periods in others, but ultimately he could draw many positive and negative lessons from his performance.
