AEW has obviously seen a lot of changes over six years, but some fans wonder whether theres a chance AEW could pull off two-night events like WWE. As it turns out, Tony Khan is actually open to the idea in the future.
While speaking to Z100 New York, Tony Khan was asked whether AEW had considered running a two-night pay-per-view event. Khan stated that while hes happy with AEWs current cadence and believes the company is having a strong year, he sees clear benefits to the two-night format.
Khan said doing two shows in the same place, or staying in one city for several events, can save a lot of money on setting up and taking down the stage, sometimes hundreds of thousands or even millions of dollars. That extra money could be spent on the show, marketing, paying wrestlers or making the company more profitable.
The AEW President also said AEWs new TV deals have made the company stronger and more successful than ever, with higher revenue each year. Therefore, Khan admitted it has big financial and logistical benefits, so hes open to it one day.
This comes after we have reported that WWE could be planning more two-night Premium Live Events following SummerSlams success. Therefore, it remains to be seen whether AEW will end up running a two-night pay-per-view event somewhere down the line.
Would you like to see AEW experiment with a two-night pay-per-view format, or should the company stick to its current event schedule? Sound off in the comments.
