Nigel McGuinness is far from finished in the squared circle.
The August 9 episode of Collision included an interesting note about a match going on next week. That contest will not only see Nigel McGuinness make his in-ring return, but it could set him up for an even bigger match.
On AEW Dynamites August 13 episode, Nigel McGuinness will return to the ring. He will be in a four-way match against Hechicero, Lee Moriarty, and Daniel Garcia.
The winner of that match will go on to Forbidden Door to take on Zack Sabre Jr for the NJPW World Title. That will be quite an opportunity, and Nigel McGuinness was on commentary to say that he is not going to pass up on that chance.
Only time will tell how things play out on AEW Dynamite next week. It seems that Nigel McGuinness is in line for a career-defining match, but he will have to overcome quite an obstacle before he can make that happen.
AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door 2025 is scheduled for Sunday, August 24, 2025, at The O2 Arena in London, England. The event will begin at 6:00 PM BST. For those in North America, that translates to 1:00 PM ET and 10:00 AM PT.
