Padraig Harrington is always an interesting face in the world of golf. The experienced golfer is currently playing at the Senior British Open, and a birdie on the last hole helped him finish the second round with a score of 65 (-5).

The Irish golfer has a one shot lead over Thomas Bjorn and K.J. Choi.

Harrington wants to go down in history by winning this tournament.

In an interview with the media, the experienced golfer shared mixed emotions, but it seems that he can mostly extract positive things after the first round.

Harrington wants to keep his lead until the end, and thus become one of five golfers who managed to win both the British Open and the Senior British Open.

"Where I should make a score I scored, and then I got in trouble on plenty of other holes," Harrington said. "Hit some recovery shots and managed my game, but I never showed much confidence out there at all in my swing at all. I obviously like these 72-hole ones, and the bigger golf courses suit me."- he said.

Thomas Bjorn shared his emotions

Thomas Bjorn also caught the eye, shooting a 63, or -7 under par, one stroke behind tournament leader Harrington.

The Dane found his rhythm on the second day, knowing he was in a great position for the coming days.

Thomas is someone who always demands more from himself, even when he seems brilliant.

Summing up his impressions after the second, Bjorn admitted that he was pleased with his performance.

"Just got out here in that mode of I know I played well yesterday and I was hitting the ball well. I knew I was playing well, but I was just angry," Bjorn said.

"Wanted to get off to a start and hit a great shot on 2, which it's not like a given birdie, and then I hit some good shots from there.

The first 12 holes was just an absolute joy."
