Mr. Kennedy has now revealed that Stone Cold Steve Austin told him to leave WWE long before he was eventually released.

While speaking on his Mic Check podcast, Mr. Kennedy revealed that Steve Austin had reached out to him about a year or a year and a half before he was released by WWE. Austin strongly advised him to leave, telling him to get out of his contract and go to TNA or Japan.

Austin warned Kennedy that there were people in WWE who didnt like him and made it clear that staying could hurt his career. Austin encouraged him to take control of his future and build his name elsewhere, on his own terms.

At the time, Kennedy understood the advice but struggled with the idea of leaving because the money he was making was hard to walk away from. So he decided to stay, even though his mindset didnt improve.

Eventually, that led to him getting fired, something that happened on the companys terms and not his. After his release, Kenny was left questioning what to do next, unsure about where his career would go from there.

Mr. Kennedy eventually went to TNA Wrestling in 2010 before his release in 2016. He also addressed rumors surroundingJohn Cena and Randy Ortons alleged involvement in his WWE release. Regardless, Kennedy made it clear he is open to making his WWE return in the future, so well have to see whether that will happen in the end.

Do you think Mr. Kennedy made the right choice staying in WWE at the time? Would you like to see him return to the company today? Sound off in the comments.
