Lyra Valkyria isnt just riding high after winning tag team gold at WrestleMania 41shes finally getting the mic time she says she always deserved.
During a new interview with Brad Gilmore, the rising WWE Superstar revealed that only since making the main roster has she been allowed to fully express her voiceand its something shes been waiting a long time to do.
When asked about her transition from in-ring technician to full-on sports entertainer, Lyra didnt hesitate to point out that her mic skills were always therebut nobody gave her the platform to use them until now.
The comments raise eyebrows. While not a direct shot at WWEs developmental system, its hard not to read between the lines. Lyra implies that during her time in NXT, she wasnt given the same opportunity to show personality or cut promos. Now that shes a main roster name, those creative shackles seem to be off.
This shift also follows her emotionally charged WrestleMania 41 momentwhere she teamed with Becky Lynch and won the Womens Tag Team Titles. That match, Lyra says, shell never rewatch because she wants to preserve how it felt in the moment. But since then, her presence on Raw has evolved, and so has her ability to connect with the crowd outside the ropes.
Lyras story is one of patience and payoffand now shes finally speaking her truth on live TV.
