The cast of the upcoming live action Street Fighter movie just added another powerhouse name from the wrestling worldand this time, its not from WWE.
Roman Reigns was already confirmed to portray Akuma, and Cody Rhodes is taking on the role of Guile. Now, a third wrestling star is stepping into the mix, and hes coming straight from New Japan Pro Wrestling.
According to Fightful Select, NJPWs Hirooki Goto has officially joined the cast and will be playing E. Honda in the film.
Goto recently had a short run with NJPWs top title, winning the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship for the first time in his career in February after defeating Zack Sabre Jr. He dropped the title back to Sabre at Tanahashi Jam on June 29.
This casting move makes Street Fighter feel like a crossover event straight out of the squared circle. With Roman Reigns, Cody Rhodes, and now Hirooki Goto involved, this film is shaping up to be a wrestling fans dream projecteven before filming has officially begun.
