MJF is building a Hollywood resume thats starting to rival his AEW accoladesand now hes teasing an unannounced movie project that could be his biggest leap yet.
On the July 8 bonus episode of The Masked Man Show, MJF opened up about his growing acting career, which includes a lead role in Happy Gilmore 2 and a secret new film with some major names attached. The AEW star revealed just enough to keep fans guessing about whats next.
This isnt the first time weve heard rumblings about MJFs expanding filmography. As Ringside News reported back in October 2024, MJF had wrapped filming on Happy Gilmore 2 in late September. In that project, he plays one of Happys sons alongside returning stars Adam Sandler, Julie Bowen, and Christopher McDonald. The Netflix sequel is expected to feature a blend of classic Sandler absurdity and MJFs unmistakable presence. MJF touched on what working with Sandler meant to him as a kid from the Northeast who idolized SNL icons:
His breakout in The Iron Claw already drew strong reviews, now this unnamed Ron Perlman project show that MJF is serious about becoming a multi-platform star.
MJF isnt just dipping his toe into Hollywoodhes diving in headfirst, and hes bringing the same arrogance and charisma that made him AEWs top star. With heavyweight names like Adam Sandler, Ron Perlman, and Justin Long in his corner, its clear MJF isnt playing small ball anymore. Whether this is the beginning of his full-blown Hollywood takeover or just a side hustle between title runs, one things for sureMaxwell Jacob Friedman doesnt do anything halfway.
Is MJF slowly stepping away from wrestling to conquer film full-time? Or is this just another step in juggling both worlds like a pro? Drop your thoughts in the comments below.
