During the July 9, 2025 episode, Kevin Knight and Speedball Mike Bailey decided to declare themselves AEW Tag Team Champions by stealing the titles and writing it on a whiteboard in the locker room. The comedic backstage segment saw the duo scribble a bold claim, referencing a previous outcome against The Hurt Syndicate, who currently hold the gold.
To top it off? They threw in a shoutout: Happy Birthday, Shelton. Yes a nod to Shelton Benjamin, who celebrates his birthday today, turning 50.
The moment instantly grabbed attention on social media, as fans realized it wasnt just about laughs its part of the bigger build to AEW All In: Texas, where JetSpeed is set to challenge The Hurt Syndicate in a legit match for the titles.
Later in the night, those stolen belts were used for more than just jokes. During a fiery in-ring segment between MJF and Mark Briscoe, the two exchanged heated words until Briscoe snapped and attacked MJF. As the scuffle escalated, The Hurt Syndicate came out to break things up only to get blindsided by JetSpeed, who stormed the ring and clocked them with the stolen AEW Tag Titles.
From comedy to chaos, JetSpeed made it clear theyre not just coming for laughs theyre coming for blood and gold.
