Goldbergs final WWE match nearly started with a missed callliterally. The wrestling icon recently revealed that the phone call from Triple H to discuss his retirement match almost went unanswered because Goldberg thought it was just another spammer.
While speaking about how his WWE Saturday Nights Main Event bout came together with SHAK Wrestling, Goldberg admitted the whole thing caught him off guard. He was out on his land when a call from an unknown number popped up.
At first, Goldberg didnt even answer the call.
Hes thankful now that he picked up the second time, especially after years of feeling rushed into past matches.
Goldberg also used the story as an opportunity to call out the spam call epidemicand he didnt hold back.
From mowing his lawn to preparing for his final in-ring showdown, Goldbergs farewell to WWE nearly got lost in the noise of unwanted robocalls. Now, hes getting ready to close out his career on his own termsjust not thanks to a spam filter.
