Matt and Jeff Hardy have been a tag team for over three decades now and their most iconic theme song remains Loaded. The song has been used in various promotions all over the world and now the Hardys have explained how they were able to do that.
While speaking on Not Sam Wrestling, Sam Roberts asked the Hardys about their entrance theme, pointing out how unusual it is in wrestling that the same music followed them across WWE, AEW, and TNA, since it wasnt a WWE creation. He wondered if that was just good timing and luck.
Jeff Hardy stated that he once heard their theme song on an episode of Ghost Hunters and was amazed, saying its popped up on many other shows over the years.
Matt Hardy explained that the reason its possible is because the song is actually copyright-free music that can be licensed by anyone. Thats how they were able to use it in AEW and TNA as well, which he thinks is really cool.
Matt went on to say that when they were first getting popular, that was the music tied to them. Before that, they actually had a different fast-paced song for about four or five weeks, though he couldnt remember the name.
Eventually they switched to what became known as Loaded, and it quickly got linked to them, especially after they won the tag team titles and had their big ladder match at No Mercy 1999 against Edge and Christian, which really made their careers take off.
Because of the special way their theme song was licensed, Loaded has been able to stay with the Hardys wherever they go. It always brings an extra dose of nostalgia every time they make their entrance, no matter what company theyre in and thats never changing.
