A new tag team has officially punched their ticket to WWE Evolutionand its one nobody saw coming.
On the July 4 episode of SmackDown, Alexa Bliss and Charlotte Flair shocked the competition by earning their spot in the Womens Tag Team Championship match set for Evolution on July 13.
Bliss and Flair, teaming together for the first time, took on B-Fab & Michin and Piper Niven & Alba Fyre in a three-way qualifier. Despite their inexperience as a duo, Bliss and Flair walked away with the win, securing their place in the high-stakes four-way title match at WWE Evolution.
The title picture has seen plenty of changes in recent weeks. After Liv Morgan suffered a shoulder injury that forced her off the show, WWE scrapped her storyline with Nikki Bella and reshuffled plans for the Womens Tag Team Titles. Morgans injury also meant Raquel Rodriguez needed a new partnerand Roxanne Perez was chosen to fill that spot.
Rodriguez and Perez will defend the titles at Evolution in a four-way match featuring one team from Raw, one from SmackDown, and one from NXT. Bliss and Flair now represent the blue brand, with the remaining two teams yet to be announced.
With a newly-formed alliance between two of WWEs biggest names, the Womens Tag Team division just got a whole lot more unpredictable.
