WWEs SummerSlam weekend is getting the late-night comedy treatment again with Tony Hinchcliffe at the helm, but not everyone behind the scenes is thrilled about his return.

The company announced that WWE Late Night Featuring Tony Hinchcliffe will take place Saturday, August 2 at 11 PM ET from the Bergen Performing Arts Center in Englewood, New Jersey. The closed-door event promises comics, entertainers, WWE Superstars, and huge surprisesbut unlike WrestleMania weekend, this one isnt a roast.

According to Fightful Select, the internal reaction to Hinchcliffes latest WWE gig was mostly quiet. However, one person from within the company summed up the mood with a pointed comment:

The dig is aimed at the Roast of WrestleMania earlier this year in Las Vegas, where Hinchcliffe roasted WWE stars like The Miz, Sami Zayn, and Paul Heyman. While the show drew laughs from fans, it clearly left some in the company less than eager to revisit that format.

Tickets for the SummerSlam weekend comedy show go on presale Monday, June 30 at 10 AM ET, with general public sales starting July 1.

How do you feel about WWE adding late-night comedy to Summer Slam weekend? Is it a fun change of pace or unnecessary? Please share your thoughts and feedback in the comment section below.
