Anyone hoping to see CM Punk fire back at John Cena tonight on Monday Night Raw is going to have to wait.

According to a report from PWInsiderElite.com, Punk is not written into the script for tonights show, meaning his response to Cenas headline-making promo isnt coming just yet.

The report cites creative sources within WWE who confirmed that Punk isnt currently planned to appear on Raw. This news follows last weeks episode, where Cena delivered a pointed promo many compared to Punks iconic pipebomb moment, directly referencing their storied rivalry.

For now, it looks like Punks rebuttal will have to wait until SmackDown, which will be broadcast live from Riyadh, Saudi Arabia this Friday.

In the meantime, tonights Raw remains a packed show. The final episode before Night of Champions will feature:

  • King of the Ring Semi-Finals: Cody Rhodes vs. Jey Uso
  • Queen of the Ring Semi-Finals: Jade Cargill vs. Roxanne Perez
  • Womens Intercontinental Championship: Becky Lynch (c) vs. Bayley
  • Bron Breakker vs. Penta
  • Goldberg appearance to address his upcoming match with GUNTHER
  • Seth Rollins appearance

While Raw has plenty of action in store, the brewing drama between Cena and Punk will be left simmering for a few more days.

Ringside Newswill be providing live play-by-play coverage of this weeks show over in ourWWE Monday Night RAW coveragehub. It promises to be a memorable episode for many reasons, so it remains to be seen how the episode will turn out.
