Amazon Primes upcoming American Gladiators reboot just got a serious injection of wrestling talent but not everyone made the final lineup.
In an update from Fightful Select, the streaming giants reimagining of the classic competition show will now feature AEWs Wardlow, former NWA star Kamille, and J Rod, alongside the already announced Jessie Godderz and Eric Bugenhagen (formerly Rick Boogs in WWE). The show is hosted by The Miz, who was confirmed earlier and praised by MGM Alternatives Barry Poznick as the perfect host for the new era of this iconic franchise.
But while the cast is heating up with big names, not every wrestler secured a spot. According to the report, OVWs Freya the Slaya was considered for a role in the reboot late last year and even participated in a tryout. However, producers decided not to bring her aboard. Production is officially underway, and while no premiere date has been announced, the show is part of a massive rollout that also includes a 24/7 streaming channel and a planned Live Nation tour. With The Miz leading the charge and an expanding roster of wrestling talent stepping into the gladiator arena, this reboot is shaping into a collision of sports, spectacle, and nostalgia.
