Major League Wrestling is making room at the tableby letting go of multiple talents to bring in bigger names. Thats the word from PWInsider, who reported the promotion has officially completed a wave of releases, freeing up wrestlers who were still under contract but werent being regularly featured.
According to sources, MLW made the decision to release wrestlers who may not have been part of immediate creative plans, rather than keeping them locked into deals with no direction. This strategic move comes as MLW looks to reset its roster and inject higher-profile names into its product.
Among the names confirming their exit is former MLW Featherweight Champion Delmi Exo. She issued a heartfelt statement following her release:
Also gone is Psycho Samurai, who took to social media to confirm hes a free agent with plans to return stateside in July.
The roster shift also comes on the heels of several 30- and 90-day no-compete clauses expiring for recently released WWE talent, suggesting the talent pool is suddenly a lot more crowdedand competitive.
MLWs cuts werent personalthey were about positioning. And with room being made for some fresh names, fans should expect a new look and feel to the promotion in the coming months.
