Gabe Kidd pulled off a major win at NJPW Dominion, defeating Yota Tsuji in the co-main event to capture the IWGP Global Heavyweight Championship for the first time in his career.

The finish was dramatic. Tsuji countered a running knee strike with a Gene Blasterhis signature moveand nearly sealed the deal. But Kidd shocked the Osaka crowd by kicking out. Tsuji went for another Gene Blaster to end it, but this time Kidd had the answer: he reversed it into a double arm DDT and followed up with the Drill A-Hole piledriver to secure the three-count.

After the match, Kidd immediately called out Hiroshi Tanahashi, wasting no time in setting the stage for his next fight.

Tsujis reign ends at 162 days with four successful title defenses. Despite the loss, he remains a central force in NJPWs heavyweight division. But for now, its Kidds timeand he made sure everyone knows it.
