After the Bucks flamed out in the second round AGAIN, questions surrounding Giannis long term future in Milwaukee have been rife.
Podziemski says that he understands the gravity of Antetokounmpo potentially leaving Milwaukee and related it back to Steph leaving The Bay.
I mean, [its] the same thing with any player like that, its like Steph not playing for the Warriors, Podziemski said on Up & Adams. All guys who cemented their legacy and what theyre about in this league with one team, you never expected it to change. The same with Luka Doni and Dallas [Mavericks], like the whole world is shocked because of the player he is, and you can see how they were building around him. But like I said, its like any star in the league that stays with one team, you just expect them to be in one jersey and anywhere else just doesnt seem right at all.
Podziemski then reflected on how he has gone from watching Giannis in his rookie year back in the day to facing the two-time MVP on the court.
I saw Giannis get drafted, Podziemski told Adams. I was at a lot of games his rookie year and throughout his development. And so to be on the same court as him, playing against him, competing, its pretty cool, but its also kind of a full-circle moment for me, just because I played at Illinois and we played in Marquette, which is in Milwaukee, and I didnt play any minutes that game, and I had a bunch of people that are watching me.
So to go back there my rookie year and play well and play a lot in front of those same people, it was kind of refreshing for me.
There have been rumblings of Giannis headed to Golden State to play alongside his pal Steph Curry, but the haul the Warriors would need to give up is eye-watering. ESPNs Bobby Marks says the Dubs would need to give up Jimmy Butler or Draymond Green in a trade for the Greak Freak.
