Kazuchika Okada Retains Continental Title At AEW Double or Nothing

In the weeks leading up to this years Double or Nothing event, Speedball Mike Bailey competed in a series of multi-man matches against The Young Bucks. Each of those matches ended with a win for The Young Bucks.

Tony Khan then announced that Speedball Mike Bailey would face Kazuchika Okada at Double or Nothing. Okada and The Young Bucks have quite an alliance going, so Nicholas and Matthew Jacksons interference in that match was expected by many fans.

This was a hard-hitting contest, to say the least. Kazuchika Okada was very stiff as he kept Speedball Mike Bailey on the mat. Okada wanted to slow down Speedball, and it worked. However, Bailey was able to use his speed to gain control of the match eventually.

The match carried on, and they eventually found themselves on the apron, where Speedball landed a brutal knee drop on Okada. Then they returned to the ring, where Okada ate a spin kick to the head, but he returned fire with one of his shotgun dropkicks.

Speedball continued, landing a knee drop on Okada. Suddenly, Okada hit another dropkick, but the Rainmaker was countered by a kick to the head. Okada got his hand on the ropes when Speedball pinned him, and there was some confusion because the referees hand did hit the mat three times.

They continued for a bit, and then Okada nailed a dropkick and a Rainmaker to win the match and retain the title. This was a clean win for Kazuchika Okada, and it was also a hard-fought one.

The Continental Championship is one of many championships in AEW. Tony Khan hasnt rejected the idea of bringing in even more. Only time will tell what AEW will look like in a year from now at this point, but Ringside News will be here for more coverage.
