Braun Strowman isnt just hungry for a comebackhes hungry for a new role, and he just made it loud and clear who he wants to play next: Zangief from Street Fighter.
On May 26, 2025, the former WWE star took to Twitter to fuel fan speculation and throw his hat in the ring for a live-action Street Fighter movie. Strowman tweeted a screenshot of a fan-made poster from Instagram account @vigilantetalks, which depicted him in full Zangief modered wrestling gear, glowing fire background, and all. The caption on the poster read: Braun Strowman is Zangief.
Strowman attached the screenshot to his tweet and wrote: Lets manifest it!!!!!! #Zangief #StreetFighter
But that wasnt all. Just moments later, Strowman followed up with a short video from inside his car where he put his voice to the test. He addressed the growing fan demand to hear him do a Russian accentand delivered. Yall asked. What do ya think?? he tweeted alongside the video.
In the clip, Strowman looked directly into the camera and said in a thick Russian accent:
Many people may be ask if I can do Russian accent. Well, what do you think? You are looking in the face of Zangief.
Between the visual transformation and vocal delivery, Strowman made a solid case for himselfand fans are eating it up. While theres no official Street Fighter film currently announced with casting underway, the momentum behind Strowmans campaign is building fast.
This latest move comes after news broke that Strowman will be fronting his own WWE-produced food series titled Everything on the Menu With Braun Strowman, even after being released from WWE earlier this month.
