The Hurt Syndicate will keep hurting people as champions.
2025 Double or Nothing event was held at the Desert Diamond Arena in Glendale, Arizona. The show included multiple matches, including one for the AEW World Tag Team Championship.
On the May 14 Beach Break episode of Dynamite, the Hurt Syndicate won their match. After the match, their manager MVP announced that Bobby Lashley and Shelton Benjamin would defend the AEW World Tag Team Championship at Double or Nothing. The challengers would be decided in a number one contenders match on the May 17 episode of Collision.
The contenders match featured CRU went head-to-head against The Sons of Texas, and then Dustin Rhodes and Sammy Guevara won their match. Guevara and Rhodes are also ROH Tag Team Champions, so this win could further cover them in gold.
Bobby Lashley and Shelton Benjamin started hurting their opponents very early on. They continued tagging in and out to keep a fresh man in the match, but the challengers didnt give up without a real fight.
The ROH Tag Team Champions fought on, and at one point, MJF tried to get involved, but Shelton Benjain told him to back off. The match continued as Bobby Lashley speared Sammy Guevara out of his boots, but Dustin Rhodes pulled him out of the ring as the referee counted. Eventually, Bobby speared Rhodes through the barricade outside.
Then, Shelton Benjamin finished the job with Sammy Guevara with some kicks to the face to win the match. The Hurt Syndicate celebrated their win afterward while the ROH Tag Team Champions sold their injuries.
We will keep a close eye on the AEW Tag Team Division. At this rate, competition is heating up in a big way. After all, Tony Khan is known to love booking mayhem.
