The 2025 Double or Nothing event took place at the Desert Diamond Arena in Glendale, Arizona. Among the matches on the card was the finals of the Womens Owen Hart Foundation Cup, where Jamie Hayter faced Mercedes Mon.
The winner of the 2025 tournament will earn a title shot at All In, scheduled for Saturday, July 12, 2025, at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas. Only time will tell if the championship changes hands in the Lone Star State.
This match kicked off the pay-per-view on Sunday night. Fans were more than ready to see these two throw down to kick off the event.
This match got started with the brutality early on, and it eventually spilled to the ringside area. Mercedes Mone showed off some relentless offense as she then threw Jamie Hayter back in to continue applying punishment to the challenger.
Mercedes Mone tried her best to score a pinfall with her diverse move set, but Jamie Hayter kept kicking out. As Hayter fought on, fans rallied behind her. Then Hayter took control of the contest, which included landed some knees in the corner, but that advantage didnt last long.
Mone landed a backstabber, but then Hayter returned fire with a kick to the face. Eventually, they were both laid out on the mat. This match continued as Mone landed another Backstabber before getting her crossface lock on. Hayter fought to get out of it and eventually tried to shift things to her advantage.
This match went back-and-forth, and then Mercedes Mone locked on the Statement Maker once again. Hayter fought to get to the ropes, but Mone rolled away from them. Then Hayter got on her feet with Mone on top, but Mercedes fought to get out of it. Suddenly, Hayter nailed a lariat on Mercedes for a close near fall.
They continued for a bit with Jamie Hayter nailing a tombstone piledriver, but that only got a near fall out of the situation. Suddenly, Mercedes Mone stole the win with a quick roll-up pin. Now Mercedes Mone is the 2025 Owen Hart Foundation Tournament winner, and she will face the AEW Womens World Champion at All In.
Previous winners include Dr. Britt Baker in 2022, Willow Nightingale in 2023, and Mariah May in 2024. Naturally, this accolade can provide a massive launching pad for anyone who comes down with the win.
