Goldbergs retirement match might finally have a target date and locationand its one that carries extra weight for the WWE Hall of Famer.
According to Fightful Select, internal discussions within WWE this week indicate that Goldbergs farewell could take place in Atlanta, Georgia. That lines up with a recent Ringside News report that first broke the potential location.
Atlanta isnt just a random southern city for Goldbergits personal. He played college football for the Georgia Bulldogs, suited up for the Atlanta Falcons, and became a WCW icon with the Georgia Dome as one of his most memorable stomping grounds.
The date WWE is eyeing makes this even more interesting. Saturday Nights Main Event is internally slated for July 12, the same night AEW is scheduled to run All In. While WWE hasnt publicly confirmed the date or the match, multiple sources have said that Goldberg is being absolutely discussed for the show.
While not officially confirmed as his retirement bout, everything appears to be lining up: Goldberg has signed off on the creative, hes been getting back into fighting shape, and WWE seems ready to give him one final sendoff on his terms.
