With just two days to go until AEW Double or Nothing 2025, the company is making a late push to increase attendanceby quietly opening up more seats inside Desert Diamond Arena.
According to an update posted by WrestleTix on May 23, AEW has added rows to the upper decks and hard cam side this week, expanding the current setup to 7,296 seats. The report noted that most upper deck sections are marked as partially opened, along with some nearby lower bowl sections on the hard cam side. However, the upper sections directly opposite the stage still remain closed.
Despite these new rows being added, ticket sales are still trailing last years numbers by a wide margin. WrestleTix confirmed that as of May 23, Tickets Distributed: 6,614nearly 2,500 fewer than the 9,099 paid attendance AEW pulled for last years Double or Nothing at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.
With 682 tickets still available, the cheapest going for $40, AEW is hoping the seat expansion translates into a final surge of sales. Desert Diamond Arenas max configuration is 11,074 seats (not including anything behind sections 103, 203, 109, and 213), meaning theres still a large gap to fill if AEW hopes to come close to a packed house.
This years event, set for May 25, includes major matches like Anarchy in the Arena, Dustin Rhodes & Sammy Guevara vs. The Hurt Syndicate for the AEW World Tag Team Titles, and Toni Storm defending the AEW Womens Championship against Mina Shirakawa. But even with a strong lineup, the Glendale crowd looks to be the smallest for a Double or Nothing in years.
AEW may be betting that the late venue expansion will help them avoid the optics of a half-empty arenabut with time running out, its going to take more than just extra seats to shift momentum.
