Tony Khan has officially pulled the plug on Mina Shirakawas controversial new entrance theme after backlash from fans during AEW Dynamite.
According to Fightful Select, the theme, which was not produced by Mikey Rukus, was changed on the fly during the May 14 Beach Break special.
Khan acknowledged the sudden switch after a fan on Twitter asked, Did TK check Twitter to see everyone ragging on that Mina theme and decide to change it back on the fly?? Khan simply replied, Yeah.
Its being said that there are no plans to use the theme again, with sources noting that Khan was quick to make the adjustment after seeing the negative reaction online.
The controversy over Shirakawas music sparked a heated exchange between Alfred Konuwa and Ricochet. Konuwa called out Khan for allegedly catering to nerdrage from bots and making executive decisions based on social media backlash. Ricochet fired back, tweeting, Stuff like this shows me the level of fcking stupidity that infects the IWC.*
Mina Shirakawa, who recently signed a full-time AEW contract, went on to pin AEW Womens Champion Toni Storm in a four-way match, earning herself a title shot at Double or Nothing.
