
Kevin Owens took to Twitter on May 18 to reflect on a monumental moment in his WWE career the ten-year anniversary of his unforgettable debut on RAW against John Cena. Owens reminisced about the night he answered Cenas open challenge, a match that would change the course of his career.
This morning I was reminded that ten years ago today, I showed up on RAW for the first time to answer John Cenas open challenge. And that night changed my life forever, changed my career, Owens said. To say an unbelievable ride would be an understatement.
Owens, who hasnt been seen in WWE since before WrestleMania 41, admitted that he wishes he was back in the ring but expressed gratitude for the journey so far. Im not where I want to be because I wish I was in the ring performing, having matches, contributing. And thats not the case, unfortunately, because of this neck injury, he continued.
Owens also took a moment to praise a new book written by JJ McGee that chronicles his career alongside longtime friend Sami Zayn. This woman wrote a book about Sammy and Is career, her journey together If youre a fan of Sammy and I, you need to get this book. I cannot say it enough. Its incredible, he said, adding that he plans to share the link to the book in his post.
While Owens remains uncertain about the status of his neck surgery, he ended the video with a heartfelt thank you to everyone whos supported him over the last decade. So many amazing moments in the ring, out of the ring. So many amazing people that I had the chance to get to know. Im just so grateful for all of it, Owens concluded.
With no surgery date set and his return timeline still unclear, Kevin Owens focus remains on the ten years hes already given to WWE and the uncertain road ahead.
