Mickie James opened up about her eye-opening experience as the only female coach on WWE LFG, where she worked alongside wrestling legends Booker T, Bubba Ray Dudley, and The Undertaker.
Speaking to Denise Salcedo, James revealed how being surrounded by Hall of Famers made her question whether she was even worthy of being there.
There was a lot of like just like testing myself, even feeling like, was I worthy to be here coaching with these guys? James admitted. While Booker T and Bubba Ray have established wrestling schools that produced top talent currently on TV, James felt like the odd one out. You know, I dont have a school. Ive done a few seminars, you know, the master class. Ive done that, you know, she said.
Despite her doubts, James formed a deeper connection with Booker T, whom she praised for keeping her spirits high. I got even closer, I think, to Booker T. He made me laugh every single day, James shared.
As for The Undertaker, James said she got to know a different side of the man once known as the judge and jury of the WWE locker room. You know, Bubba, Taker I got to, I think, to know Undertaker in a different light that I had never really Id only seen him as the judge in the jury of the locker room, you know what I mean? But to then get to know him and feel as an equal, like that was pretty special, you know, with all these guys, she said.
James also reflected on being the only coach who wasnt a Hall of Famer. They were all Hall of Famers. I was the only one that wasnt a Hall of Famer and I was the first female coach, you know, she said.
Tonights WWE LFG season finale will mark the end of Mickie James run as a coach, as she wont be returning next season. Instead, The Undertakers wife, Michelle McCool, is set to take her place. This marks a significant change for the coaching staff.
