CM Punks potential involvement in WWE Night of Champions in Saudi Arabia on June 28 is causing quite a stir, especially given his previous criticism of the countrys controversial WWE events. Despite his past comments, a new report suggests Punk may be working the event after all.
According to a new update, Mike Johnson of PWInsider stated that while the card is always subject to change, he would certainly believe that Punk will be working the Saudi Arabia show.
This comes after Punks recent Instagram Live session, where he was asked about his stance on Saudi Arabia. Punk surprisingly claimed he doesnt hate the country, saying, Ive never been to Saudi, I dont hate coming to Saudi. This was a significant departure from his 2020 remark aimed at The Miz, where he infamously said, Go suck a blood money covered d** in Saudi Arabia you f dork.
Now, with Punk being advertised for Night of Champions, many are calling him out for being a hypocrite. However, his response on Instagram suggests he may be open to the trip, especially with WWE making a significant push to stack the card with major stars.
Punks possible involvement in the Saudi event has fans speculating about who he could face if he does indeed compete. As of now, nothing is officially confirmed, but Johnsons comments have certainly added fuel to the fire.
Do you think CM Punk is selling out by potentially working the Saudi Arabia event, or is he just making a smart business decision? Let us know in the comments!
