Maven Huffmans claim of sneaking backstage at AEW Collision is being called out as fiction. In a recent Fightful Select Q&A, Sean Ross Sapp addressed the situation after being asked about Mavens YouTube video, where the former WWE Tough Enough winner claimed he got into the AEW taping without an invite.
Sapp shut down the story, saying, I hate to blow up his spot here, but he didnt sneak backstage at AEW, guys. He was invited there and was taken around by a PR representative who you can see numerous times in the video. I know this because I have worked with that PR representative for over a decade across multiple companies.
In his video, Maven narrated a tale of casually strolling past security and pretending to belong in the AEW locker room, making it sound like he was pulling off some kind of backstage heist. However, Sapps clarification paints a very different picture one of a guided tour arranged by AEW PR.
Despite the story being debunked, Maven still had some memorable interactions during his AEW visit, including catching up with Billy Gunn and his WrestleMania X8 opponent, Dustin Rhodes. He also spent time with Thunder Rosa, who he praised as one of his favorite gimmicks in wrestling today.
With the truth now out, was Maven just trying to hype up his YouTube content, or was it all in good fun? Let us know what you think in the comments below.
