Pat McAfee might be ready to close the book on his WWE career after taking a vicious beating from GUNTHER at WWE Backlash. Despite telling Byron Saxton Im good after the match, McAfees latest tweet is raising serious questions about his future in the ring.
Taking to Twitter on May 11, McAfee shared a lengthy, emotional post that sounded like he could be preparing to step away from WWE or at least reevaluating his role.
Lifes a book each day being a page leading to the next.. phases of life come and go like chapters.. not every character/job/idea has to appear in every chapter. Some things are perfect for the story when its needed.. and then disappear as just a fond memory, McAfee wrote, adding, Dont be scared to end a chapter and start anew.. youre gonna have to do it eventually anyways.
McAfee, who has been a key part of WWE RAWs commentary team alongside Michael Cole since the show moved to Netflix in January, went on to reflect on life and how quickly things can change. And always remember to check with the mirror every once in a while and make sure your book is one that makes you happy.. and if its not, change direction.. I think that youre allowed to do that.. we have NO IDEA when the final page is being written.. with no sequels, he continued.
McAfee closed out the tweet by thanking his fans, calling his life the dumbest book of all time.. trying to figure it all aht as I go.. before signing off with the hashtag #UpToSomethingSZN.
With McAfees status for the upcoming episode of RAW now uncertain, Jackie Redmond noted that its unclear whether hell be in the commentary booth this Monday in Louisville, Kentucky. With CM Punk, Finn Balor vs. AJ Styles, and a major womens tag team match already confirmed, a shake-up in the broadcast booth could be on the horizon.
