WWE released quite a few Superstars as part of their latest slew of cuts and that included talent from both NXT as well as the main roster. In fact, it appears that WWE viewed the main roster cuts as dead weight.
According to Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the decision to release certain wrestlers from the main roster was based on the idea of bringing in new talent. He explained that those who were let go had reached their peak and the company had done all it could with them. The term dead weight was also used to describe some of the wrestlers on the main roster.
This comes after reports noted that many of the NXT wrestlers who were released were seen by WWE as notworking hard during their training, which was quickly shot down by Gigi Dolin.
The latest slew of cuts included stars such asBraun Strowman,Shayna Baszler,Cora Jade,Eddy Thorpe,Katana Chance, Kayden Carterand more, making fans feel that WWE was cutthroat as ever.
WWEs recent releases have led to a lot of discussion among fans and wrestlers alike. Some think the company is being too harsh, while others believe its a necessary move to bring new energy to the product. Its still unclear if these cuts will be good for WWE in the long run, so well have to see whether their decisions pay off in the end.
