WWE has been doing another round of releases this week. Just yesterday, word came out that several women from both the main roster and NXT were let go from their contracts.
Another name has emerged in the form of Shotzi, who was moved to the Alumni section of WWE.coms Superstars webpage earlier today alongside the rest of the released wrestlers.
Shotzi, real name Ashley Urbanski, first signed with WWE in late 2019 after several years working on the independent scene, debuting on NXT television the following year, capturing the NXT Womens Tag Team Championships with Ember Moon (now Athena in AEW/Ring of Honor) in 2021. She was eventually called up to the main roster that summer, mainly performing as a member of the SmackDown roster as both a babyface and a short-lived run as a heel. Following a knee injury sustained in a match with then-NXT Womens Champion and current Womens Intercontinental Champion Lyra Valkyria on a February 2024 episode on NXT, Shotzi returned to television in December and had allied with Gigi Dolin and Tatum Paxley to form the trio Chemical X, although Shotzis role was significantly reduced in recent weeks and she appeared with the duo infrequently. Dolin herself was also released yesterday, thus putting a premature end to the group.
She also hosted a ghost hunting series with Scarlett (valet/real-life wife of Karrion Kross) on WWEs YouTube channel called Chamber of Horrors, and served as the emcee for NXTs Halloween Havoc events in 2020 and 2022, sharing co-hosting duties with Scarlett for the 2023 edition.
Diva Dirt wishes Urbanski all the best and we hope to see her elsewhere in the business soon.
