Triple H has officially paid tribute to Japanese wrestling icon Meiko Satomura following her retirement, offering rare and powerful words of respect for one of the most decorated women to ever step into the ring.

Taking to social media, Paul Triple H Levesque wrote: Congratulations to the Japanese wrestling legend and former @WWENXT UK Womens Champion, Meiko Satomura. Your contributions to this industry have inspired a generation of female athletes around the world.

The message came shortly after Satomuras final match on April 29 in Tokyo for Sendai Girlsthe promotion she founded in 2005. WWE followed suit with acknowledgments on NXT, where Corey Graves congratulated Satomura live on commentary. IYO SKY, Asuka, Kairi Sane, and Shinsuke Nakamura also appeared in pre-recorded messages played at the retirement event in Japan.

Satomuras final WWE appearances came in July 2024 during a live event tour in Japan. She wrestled in two eight-woman tag matches and capped it off with a singles match loss to Bayley. Though her time on WWE programming was brief, her impact was significantespecially in NXT UK, where she served as both wrestler and coach.
