The fallout from Leon Slaters dangerous dive at TNA Rebellion isnt slowing downand now AJ Francis is speaking out after catching heat online.
On April 28, AJ Francis, who was one of the wrestlers positioned outside the ring to catch Slater during the insane Ultimate X dive, took to social media to defend himself. Francis revealed the toll it took on his own body trying to save Slater from a brutal landing, writing, Almost tore my bicep trying to catch him and Im the only one anybody got any smoke for
Francis didnt stop there. He pointed out the double standard he feels exists around botched dives, adding, But if I was the guy that moved out the way, yall would try to end my career. Just like how everyone whos fucked up a dive since me gets a pass
Francis also made it clear that Leon Slater himself had no issue with how things went down, saying, @LEONSLATER_ himself thanked me.
This update comes after Jordynne Grace deleted her own comments about the dangerous move. Grace originally posted about the risks involved in catching someone falling from that height and speed, saying, The higher/heavier/faster the person is falling, the harder it is to catch them. The likelihood of injury to yourself if you do catch them is extremely high. She later deleted the tweet, explaining, Deleted because if people thought THIS is what I was saying, I didnt articulate myself well enough.
Despite the chaos, backstage reports say Leon Slater was okay after the dive, with Fightful Select reporting, Those that we spoke to said that Leon Slater appeared to be okay backstage after his insane Ultimate X spot.
With emotions still running high, its clear this situation struck a nerveand AJ Francis isnt about to stay quiet while critics come after him.
