Former WWE star Shotzi Blackheart hit the ground running on the independent scene following her release from the company in May of last year, and now, the star has found a new home in TNA. Following her signing and debut on "TNA iMPACT," Blackheart appeared on "Busted Open Radio" to discuss her journey post-WWE. She commented on how important stepping out of her comfort zone on the indies was to her."That's why my first match going back to the indies was having a death match against GCW's death match champion," Blackheart explained. "That was my first match coming back to the indies. I went through glass. I was bleeding all over the place, because I wanted just that huge contrast of what WWE is and then just like showing everyone, 'Hey, yo, I'm here to rock and roll. You're seeing a different side of me. I'm not tamed anymore. I have been unleashed.'"ECW original Bully Ray jokingly asked Blackheart if she would have a death match with him if he came out of retirement. The star retired alongside his longtime tag team partner, D-Von Dudley, following their match against the Hardys at TNA Bound for Glory 2025. Blackheart said she absolutely would face him, even if the WWE Hall of Famer lit a table on fire and power bombed her right through it."Let's go! Get out of retirement!" Blackheart exclaimed. "I would love that. Please, let's go. It would honestly be an honor. I've never done any fire spots."If you use any quotes from this article, please credit "Busted Open Radio" and provide a h/t to Wrestling Inc. for the transcription.
