Former WWE and AEW star Jake Hager suffered a devastating blow to the eye at last month's Power Slap 23 event, one that left him in need of emergency surgery. Further details on Hager's condition were unknown at the time due the family wanting to keep the situation private.Hager is no stranger to physical contact, having backgrounds in pro wrestling, mixed martial arts, and now, Power Slap. He initially retired from wrestling in 2025; the former "All-American American" later returned to in-ring action in June 2026 for a pair of shows with World Wrestling Council in Puerto Rico. His aforementioned Power Slap fight marked the third of his career.
