NBA commissioner Adam Silver has made it clear that LeBron James unusual travel arrangements with the Philadelphia 76ers arent breaking any league rules.James has been commuting between New York and Philadelphia by helicopter since joining the Sixers in free agency, raising questions about how the arrangement is being funded. But Silver has dismissed any concerns surrounding the situation, explaining that the helicopter is provided through James endorsement agreement with Fanatics. He has a deal with Fanatics, Silver said during an appearance on The Pat McAfee Show on Tuesday. Its perfectly appropriate if part of his deal is theyre going to supply a helicopter to him as long as its just a deal between the Fanatics and LeBron and no team is involved; theres no rules issue there whatsoever. The arrangement has attracted plenty of attention since James decided to make New York his home rather than relocate to Philadelphia following his offseason move. However, James isnt the first member of the Sixers organization to live in New York while working in Philadelphia. His former coach and current Sixers head coach JJ Redick previously made the same decision, although James preferred method of transportation has certainly made his commute more noticeable. The 41-year-olds helicopter has even become a talking point during team media sessions.Players have occasionally been forced to pause during post-practice news conferences as the sound of James helicopter departing from the roof of the teams business center interrupts proceedings, according to ESPN.The noise has reportedly drawn laughter from teammates, with the helicopter becoming a familiar presence around the facility.James, meanwhile, doesnt appear particularly concerned about the attention surrounding his travel arrangements.Ive done it before; just another way of transportation, James said when recently asked about the situation. With Silver confirming that the arrangement doesnt violate league regulations, there appears to be no reason for James to change his routine. As long as Fanatics continues to provide the transportation independently of the Sixers, the NBA has no issue with its biggest star taking to the skies.READ MORE: BFs NBA Power Rankings: Top 10 Teams Heading Into 2026-27
