There have been several cuts to the WWE ID program over the last few months, with one of the first being Anya Rune, who wrestled on WWE EVOLVE with the anime character "The Main Character." It's a role that Rune won't be playing on the indie scene for the foreseeable future, by her own choice. Taking to X on Monday evening, Rune revealed she was putting her wrestling career on hold, hoping that an extended break would reignite the passion she has for wrestling."Hi everybody," Rune tweeted. "I know a post like this is gonna let a lot of you down but I feel like its very necessary. Hell, I never thought I would end up making a post like this. I need to take a step back from wrestling. Both for my physical and mental health. I don't know how long this is going to last but I'm hoping to find a new love for it in the time I will be spending away."I will be keeping my social media somewhat active, it'll just be less wrestling related content. I have unfortunately fallen out of love with wrestling but that doesn't mean I don't love everything its given me. I love and appreciate every single last one of you guys who have continued to support me through everything. Thank you so much."Though Rune gained the most notoriety in her career while competing in "EVOLVE," she had been wrestling on the independent circuit for three years before signing with WWE ID program. During that time, Rune, competing under the name Airica Demia, appeared for indie promotions such as Beyond Wrestling and GCW, as well as Ring of Honor, where she was defeated by Nyla Rose in a squash match. Her most high profile booking outside of WWE was competing for World Wonder Ring Stardom's WrestleMania weekend show in 2025, where she teamed with Unagi Sayaka to wrestle Jody Threat and current World of Stardom Champion Suzu Suzuki.
