It was Henry's third fumble in the fourth quarter since the start of the 2025 season, the most in the NFL."I got to take care of the ball," he said. "There's no excuses for that. I got to be better. I put the team in harm's way. I sound like a broken record with this, but I got to go back to work on it. Can't put the team in that situation."On the play, Henry burst through the left side of the line for a first down with a 5-yard gain before Cleveland linebacker Carson Schwesinger collided with the five-time Pro Bowl running back and pulled away the ball while falling to the ground. Seven plays later, Audric Estime scored on a 2-yard touchdown run to tie the score at 10-10 with 8:33 left in the game.Ravens safety Kyle Hamilton said none of the players is blaming Henry because of "the amount of times he's saved our asses.""Obviously, he's Derrick Henry, Hall of Fame running back [who] wants to hold onto the ball," Hamilton said. "He knows that. He's his harshest critic, so I'm not going to say anything ill about it. He's put us in position to win a lot of games."Henry, 32, ranks ninth on the league's all-time rushing list. Since he signed with Baltimore in 2024, his 4,050 yards rushing and 39 rushing touchdowns lead the NFL.But his mistakes have proved costly. In last year's 41-40 season-opening loss at Buffalo, his fumble at the Ravens' 41 with 3:06 left in the fourth quarter was converted into a touchdown. In a 38-30 loss to the Detroit Lions in Week 3 last year, his fumble at the Baltimore 21 with 8:26 remaining in the game led to a field goal. It's a troubling reversal of fortune for Henry; in his first nine NFL seasons, he lost just two fourth-quarter fumbles in 136 games."Nobody works harder at ball security [than Henry]," Ravens coach Jesse Minter said. "It happened, [and] it was a good play by them. I'd like for us to be able to rise up and get a stop right there and have each other's backs, [and] we weren't able to do that. It becomes an even bigger play when you're not able to kind of back it up with the defense. So, it is what it is."Henry has fumbled a total of four times since the start of 2025, which ranks second only to Buffalo's James Cook (five lost fumbles). Henry's latest turnover led to the Ravens' 17th blown double-digit lead since 2018, the most in the NFL over that span. The Ravens (4-2) dropped in a three-way tie for first place in the AFC North. They next face the Cincinnati Bengals, who are coming off a bye."I just have to be better, be better for this team, be better in my play [and] better taking care of the ball," Henry said. "[Fumbles] can't happen."
