Nick Wayne was very proud about the fact that he beat Chris Jericho on the Grand Slam France edition of "AEW Collision," but at AEW WrestleDream 2026, he was hoping for lightning to strike twice. After a match that saw Mardi Gras beads, cups, and a large number of Low Blows, fans can once again say that Nick Wayne beat Chris Jericho.Jericho beat Wayne from pillar to post in the early going, dumping Wayne on the steel steps and sending him into the crowd. He was so proud of his work that he gave some Mardi Gras beads to Paul Wight on commentary and even used a photographer's camera to take a selfie. However, the tide turned when he went for some punches in the corner only to be pushed off the top rope to the outside, allowingWayne to hit a Moonsault.Wayne kept control of the match for a shot period but that was short-lived as Jericho fought back to hit a big Lariat after missing the Judas Effect, and avoided an kick to hit a Codebreaker for a near fall. A strike exchange led to a Running Bulldog, but after Jericho lost his footing going for the Lionsault, Wayne looked to land a Senton Bomb to no avail. Instead, Jericho hit a Crossbody to the outside.Jericho was caught taking too much time when Wayne landed a shot in the corner to take control, landing some corner punches and going for an Avalanche Hurricanrana, but Jericho cut him off mid-move with a Powerbomb to get a two count, and when Wayne kicked out, he transitioned it into the Walls of Jericho that Wayne managed to escape from. Wayne rolled to the outside to get some water, which he spat in Jericho's face to allow him some time to set up a Sliced Bread on the apron, before hitting a 450 Splash back in the ring for another near fall.Wayne hit a modified Wayne's World which Jericho kicked out of at one, which led to a fired up Jericho locking in the Walls of Jericho again, but when Wayne rolled out he was launched into the corner with a catapult. Wayne tried to hit Jericho with a Low Blow but Jericho was wearing a cup, which Jericho then used to beat Wayne down, and when Bryce Remsburg went to take the cup out of the match, Jericho hit a Low Blow for good measure. However, this would be his undoing as he missed a Judas Effect due to Wayne falling over, and got caught in a roll-up where Wayne would get the victory.
