Other times, they're boisterous and bold. This week, Coastal Carolina went the second route ... and then some.On Friday night, the Chanticleers will go "Back to the '90s" with their uniforms, suiting up in throwback-style threads with color and detail galore. A graffiti-font nameplate? Sure. Confetti and multicolored triangles on the jersey base? Why not? It's a look that mixes teal, pink and neon green and yellow for a memorable result. "Fresh Prince of Bel-Air" theme, anyone? The best part, though, comes from a detail that has nothing to do with the uniforms themselves. As noted by ESPN's Bill Connelly, Coastal Carolina didn't even have a football team in the 1990s. The Chanticleers' first season was in 2003.While Coastal Carolina's threads are certainly the boldest, plenty of other schools will don clean looks this weekend. Here are college football's top uniforms for Week 7.CalOne of the most interesting uniform tributes of the year will come from Cal this week, who will don threads nodding to the Grateful Dead. The Golden Bears' helmets will contain a number of Grateful Dead-themed elements -- the script Cal wordmark on the lid's side is featured inside a skull emblem, a center stripe features a lightning bolt, and the back bumper has the band's iconic dancing bears.Boston CollegeWhile the maroon and gold color scheme will be the same as usual for Boston College this week, the Eagles' threads will also feature key details that put a twist on their standard look. "Soar High" will be stitched onto the jersey's collar, while an alternate eagle head emblem appears on the shoulders. The school's interlocking BC logo will also make a return on the uniforms' golden pants.UTEPUTEP's helmet for this week -- featuring an alternate logo design of a running miner -- is nice, but what's particularly interesting is how the selection of the alternate emblem was made. The Miners let fans vote on which decal the team's helmets for Week 7 would feature, and the people spoke out in favor of "Paydirt Pete."Utah"If it ain't broke, don't fix it," is a classic saying, and it's a maxim Utah is adopting with its uniform selection for the week. Last week, the Utes debuted their "icy white" look, featuring an ice and snow-themed helmet, and then rolled Kansas 41-24 to continue an undefeated start to the season. So, Utah evidently wondered, why not keep the good times rolling? The all-white look is back for a second straight week as the Utes travel to face Colorado.KentuckyKentucky has been rolling out all sorts of uniform combinations as first-year head coach Will Stein has led the Wildcats to a 5-1 start, and Week 7 will be no different. This Saturday, Kentucky will wear a mixture of traditional school colors and an alternate splash, combining a black helmet and pants with the Wildcats' classic white and blue jerseys.
