Brian Cage, Lance Archer, andChavo Guerrero are among the latest pro wrestlers to step into the ring onscreen, appearing in StevenSpielberg's "Disclosure Day" released earlier this year. In an interview on the "No But Seriously Though" podcast, Cage recalled how the appearance came together and reflected on working with Spielberg."Somebody else pointed out that BrianCage worked for Steven Spielberg before JohnCena or the Rock," he said."Chavo kind of helped me get the job."According to Cage, he was set to work on a TV show alongside Guerrero, but the job was postponed. In the meantime, Guerrero (who has become something of a conduit between Hollywood and pro wrestling) suggested that he might be the right fit for the Spielberg film. Some time after hisaudition, he heard that Spielberg loved his charisma and look, and wanted him for the role. "I go, 'Oh, s**t! StevenSpielberg's watching my stuff?' ... He saw me and went, 'Oh! That's what a pro wrestler looks like. I need that guy in my movie.'"Cage added that Spielberg told him he was a wrestling fan and allowed Cage to pick his opponent, which ended up being Archer. The wrestlers appear in the film's opening sequence.Outside of this appearance,Cage expressed that he would've loved to have been a Wolverine variant in "Deadpool & Wolverine," or he'd be satisfied with any other small appearances in the MarvelCinematic Universe, or in a fight scene with an action star like Jet Li.If you use any quotes from this article, please credit"No But Seriously Though," and provide a h/t to Wrestling Inc. for the transcription.
