Wetting oneself is all just part of the day-to-day grind when you're a pro wrestler, according to WWE star Drake Maverick, who, at the 2018 Survivor Series pay-per-view event, was instructed to urinate on himself during a brief segment with former talent, The Big Show. Given a device to help with the process, the thing malfunctioned, thus making Maverick think quickly on his feet on how he would continue through his assigned role without causing an uproar backstage. Though he made Simon Miller laugh along the way, Maverick recounted the day, and how his quick thinking saved him."Yeah, I don't trust contraptions," the former eight-time 24/7 Champion began. "This contraption is in my jacket...and the tubes coming out the hole there and it's like directed to...out of nowhere, I'm wearing gray pants...What you basically had was a clip...and I clipped the thing as I was on the floor. And then, you just squeeze the bag and it goes through the tube. Well, I'm going like that, and I look like I'm playing the bag pipe, and it's not coming out. So, within a split second, I'm like, 'I don't feel this working...Got to do it.' I didn't wear underwear...I just held Big Show's hand as tight as I could and just closed my eyes, [and] thought of England."Backstage, Maverick recalls how former creative writer Brian James (Road Dogg), CCO Paul "Triple H" Levesque, and former CEO and Chairman Vince McMahon all had a major laugh when they found out Maverick's device did not work, and that he urinated on himself. Suffice to say, Maverick wanted to prove that day and beyond that when asked to do something, he was a reliable worker. After two releases in 2020 and in 2021, Maverick thought his time in WWE was over for good. However, he was called back to the Stamford-based promotion. This time, with a backstage role as one of the company's creative writers and producers. He's been with the company since 2022, acting as one of the writers/producers for "WWE Raw."If you use any of the quotes in this article, please credit "Simon Miller" with a h/t to Wrestling Inc. for the transcription.
