Tony Khan has received his fair share of criticism in recent years for his booking decisions in both AEW and Ring of Honor. While it can be argued that some of that criticism is warranted, Khan has recently taken offense to a fan on social media who he feels has unfairly criticized an episode of "ROH on HonorClub."X (formerly known as Twitter) user Noah Gilbert posted the card for the July 31 episode of "ROH on HonorClub," stating "This is just an example of the disaster that is going on these days." He went on to say that he would like ROH to go back to its roots and run individual shows again. This post was spotted by Khan who responded with this post:""These days"? It's October. This tv was in July. Since then, there was an excellent ROH Death Before Dishonor ppv in August. It was widely praised. There was free ROH TV on YouTube last night with tremendous action. You handpicked a tv from months ago and called it "these days."" Gilbert went on to respond to Khan's message by saying that the pay-per-views aren't the problem, it's the weekly programming that has become largely skippable and if the idea of ROH is to develop young talent, it simply isn't working. At one point in time, Khan was very active on social media in regards to firing shots at people who criticized his work. He would routinely fire shots at the likes of Paul "TripleH" Levesque, Eric Bischoff, and even the USA Network itself for poking fun at him or his booking decisions, but has since calmed down when it comes to firing back at people, and has even stated publicly that he enjoys using social media to keep on top of what the real fans of AEW think of the product, regardless of whether it's positive or negative.
