Thunder Rosa is no stranger to hardcore matches. That doesn't mean she's yearning to do another one right now, however.During a recent interview with "ZackAttack," the former AEW Women's World Champion revealed what it would take for her to compete in another extreme bout, such as Blood & Guts."I'm going to chill on that one," she said. "I love doing those [types of matches] because I can be very creative, but at the same time, I feel like we can tell stories in a different way. It will have to be like a meaningful storyline for me to end in a Lights Out match kind of thing. I just don't want to be like 'Oh, Street Fight!' and everybody's bleeding. None of that. I want that to really mean something."Earlier in her AEW career, Rosa famously battled Britt Baker in a Lights Out Match, which resulted in both of them bleeding. "La Mera Mera" won the bout after sending Baker crashing through a table with a Fire Thunder Driver. In 2024, Rosa tackled a Texas Bullrope Match against Deonna Purrazzo, and again emerged victorious. Still, she admits that it, and her other violent affairs, sometimes had her questioning herself."Yeah, absolutely [I've questioned myself]," she said. "But then I think about like, okay, let's make this memorable. So it means something not only for me, for my partner, but also for the story and what we're trying to tell."Last year, 12 AEW stars competed in the first-ever Women's Blood & Guts match, with Mercedes Mone, Thekla, Skyle Blue, Megan Bayne, Marina Shafir, and Julia Hart picking up the win as a team. Whether the grueling stipulation will circle back to the women in 2026, and possibly include Rosa, has yet to be seen.If you use any of the quotes in this article, please credit "ZackAttack" with a h/t to Wrestling Inc. for the transcription.
